These terms govern use of this website and of Legal Planner, the case management software provided by RioApps, Inc.
Access to the software
Legal Planner is licensed to legal and government offices and similar organizations under a written agreement between RioApps and that organization. Where a signed agreement exists, that agreement governs and prevails over these terms if the two conflict.
Accounts are issued by the licensing organization to its own authorized staff. Accounts are personal and may not be shared. The organization is responsible for the accounts it issues and for revoking access when someone leaves.
Acceptable use
You may not use the software to break the law, to reach records you are not authorized to see, to interfere with the service, or to copy, decompile or resell it.
Client data
Information entered into Legal Planner belongs to the licensing organization. RioApps processes it on that organization's behalf and for no other purpose. See the Privacy Policy.
Text messages
Where an organization uses Legal Planner to send text messages to its clients, that organization is responsible for recording the client's mobile number and the client's agreement to receive messages. No message is sent to a client who has not agreed.
What you receive. Case-related notifications only: a message when the organization takes on your case, reminders 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before each scheduled court date, and a message if a date changes. No marketing is sent.
How often. Message frequency varies with the number of court dates in your case, typically a few messages a month.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
Stopping messages. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. You will receive one confirmation and nothing further.
Help. Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact the organization that sent it. You can also reach RioApps at support@rioapplications.com or 561-212-0490.
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile numbers and consent information are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and are never shared with third parties for marketing.
Availability and support
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside normal business hours where practical. Support terms are set out in each organization's agreement.
Intellectual property
Legal Planner, its interfaces and its documentation are the property of RioApps. A license to use the software grants no ownership in it.
Disclaimer
Legal Planner is a case management tool. It does not provide legal advice and does not replace the professional judgment of the attorneys and staff who use it. Except as set out in a signed agreement, the service is provided as is.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, and except as set out in a signed agreement, RioApps is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the software.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
